ValueOnly because it's close
Jun 4, 2009I've been in here a couple of times recently and can't say I've been impressed. The layout is pretty confusing, it's usually in a bit of a state and there are always massive queues to pay.
It's not cheap either, and I've even noticed a couple of their "special offers" didn't ring through the till either.
To be honest, if I wasn't so lazy I'd go the big Sainsburys about a 10 minute walk away. -

ValueGreat plaice for Fish and Chips
Jun 4, 2009I stopped by this place the other night as I was still un-packing from moving into the area and it was close and had been recommended by a mate.
It looked pretty busy from the outside, but service was quick - everything seems to be cooked to order, but the 10 minute or so wait wasn't too bad.
Price wasn't too bad, I think it was about £6 for Plaice & Chips, but ultmatley I'd say it was worth it. My only complaint was that fish seemed pretty greasy. I suppose that's to be expected really.
They have a sit-in restaurant as well that looked pretty big and wasn't that busy. -

ValueCan't fault it!
Mar 23, 2009Pros: A simple concept done so well - when you arrive you get to choose what you'd like served with your hummus (I chose the beef), any sides (we chose BBQ abuergine and a salad) and a drink (an outstanding warm spiced apple juice). Your hummus is served with two great pitta's and it's great tasting and VERY filling meal.
The guys working there are all very friendly and help you get to grips with ordering, and once you've ordered and sat down the food will be with you in no time at all.
Well worth the £7 - £8 for a large dish and drink, you won't be leaving hungry! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and can't wait to go back.
Cons: It's a bit too far from our office! -

ValueGood products, not a fan of their service
Dec 18, 2008Pros: I've used Dell for years, and ordering their consumer stuff online is great. Their desktop PC's represent great value for money and are usually built very very well. If I'm recommending an off the shelf system to someone Dell will always be my first suggestions. The bundle deals for monitors are usually excellent value as well.
Cons: Add ons (memory upgrades, hard drive expansions etc) are ridiculously overpriced, but this seems to be fairly standard... but my biggest gripe by far is their call centres.
i had to make a business purchase recently and getting put through to a call centre in India really really annoys me. I'm sure the team they have out there is more than compotent, but speaking to someone who doesn't have English as a first language over a phone connection that sounds comparable to Graham Bells first phonecall can make for some frustrating conversations.... -

ValueNice bar, poor service
Dec 18, 2008Pros: This pub/bar used to be Polar bar east but has since been renamed and refurbished to become The Thomas Kemp. Inside it's nicely done, lots of sofas and tables down the front and it seems at the back to (a band was playing at the time, so I couldn't really tell). It seems to attract quite a mixed crowd but it was very friendly and had a good atmosphere.
Range of beers is ok, nothing special and this is a place I'd definitley return to. Can't comment too much on pricing as I wasn't buying the drinks.
Cons: Service at the bar was a bit slow and those behind the bar didn't exactly look happy to be there.
