Supermarkets in HATFIELDCan I ask that ALL regular shoppers at the above store check the price labels on the shelves prior to purchasing a
Since the newly built store opened in Durrington I have attempted to visit on 4 seperate occasions. I am a disabled person and on each occasion have been appalled at the lack of enforcement regarding parking bays provided for disabled drivers. It's not that there is inadequate provision, simply that Tesco appear to do nothing to preclude drivers who do not display a "blue badge" or any other evidence of disability, from parking in these spaces. On each of my visits I have been unable to find a parking space within the distance I am able to walk, and have ended up driving to an alternative supermarket to do my shopping.
Since Sainsburys are prepared to fine drivers £50 for misuse of their disabled "blue badge holder" parking bays, I am invariably able to find a space close to their store. My average weekly spend in the supermarket is around £150. That is Tesco's loss, and will continue to be so until they deal with this issue.
The Fiveways Tesco store has to be one of the worse stores in the country. The layout is confusing, the staff rude and unhelpful and the queues dreadful. Whenever I reluctantly use the store, there are never any baskets at the entrance and I have to further annoy queueing customers by asking them to move out of the way while I take a basket from the dozens which have stacked up at the tills. The vast majority of the staff, not all though, are surly and disdainful. Whilst paying for my food the other week, the girl on the till was texting whilst simultaneously having a loud conversation with her friend sitting in a nearby passport photo machine. I loathe using this shop.
Very rude and unhelpful on Sunday at 4pm, they had closed but would not allow me in to help my wife pack the groceries. These were the security guards words "you'd better sit down over there mate 'cos you aren't coming in". While I stood outside and waited they allowed three women inside. Where is the fairness ??
This tesco express in Alvaston is not one of the largest stores around however it does stock and sell everything and anything you could want - and you could easily do your weekly shop here. On the aisles and shelves including fresh fruit and vegetables, pre packed meat, crisps, chocolates, milk, butter, sugar, cheese and so on. In addition to selling all the groceries and health and beauty products you could ever want or need this store also has a pharmacy located inside, making it ideal if you need to pick up a prescription or similar at the same time as doing a bit of grocery shopping. Staff are helpful, friendly and polite. Within this store there are a few self service counters - if you only have a few items, and there are also manned tills. At busy times - such as dinner time, queues can build up, but I have never had to queue or wait in this store longer than a couple of minutes.
