Pros: BView buy much of our hardware from Dell. Our latest exprerience ordering a new printer for our new office exemplifies the high standards of their service. We ordered the printer on a Monday. Dell threw in free 3-5 business day delivery. Later on Monday, I receieved an email informing me that they would actually be delivering between 9 and 5 the following day. Promptly at 9am our new printer was delivered -- a full 2-4 days earlier than promised!
Cons: The contact centre staff in India are very knowledgeable and professional, but can be very difficult to understand.
Pros: Dell are a brilliant company specializing in computer technology. They sell a huge range of desktop and notebook pc's. The website is very user friendly and they have a great and friendly customer support. I really like there pc range because they come in all sorts of different colours. I actually managed to buy a pink laptop form them a few weeks ago and it is my pride and joy!! My partner also has the same one in blue! I think it is a great way of personalising them for you! If you contact dell witth specific requirements you want in your pc they will actually make you a pc to match your needs. This is a great idea in my opinion. I think all of there stock is very reasonably priced as well.
Cons: none
Pros: I've used Dell for years, and ordering their consumer stuff online is great. Their desktop PC's represent great value for money and are usually built very very well. If I'm recommending an off the shelf system to someone Dell will always be my first suggestions. The bundle deals for monitors are usually excellent value as well.
Cons: Add ons (memory upgrades, hard drive expansions etc) are ridiculously overpriced, but this seems to be fairly standard... but my biggest gripe by far is their call centres.
i had to make a business purchase recently and getting put through to a call centre in India really really annoys me. I'm sure the team they have out there is more than compotent, but speaking to someone who doesn't have English as a first language over a phone connection that sounds comparable to Graham Bells first phonecall can make for some frustrating conversations....
Pros: Dell offer wide range of laptops and pc for home users, business users and etc. They always have some offers going on the products, they sell at reasonable price. Product description is fairly detailed and its easy to make your own specification of the computer. The site is easy to use and loads fairly quickly too. It’s very easy to order an item and their shipment is fast and quick.
Cons: I find that shopping for only components can be expensive sometimes in comparison to buying a pc or a laptop.
Two things that are annoying is the call you get when your order is being processed, they try and sell you something that you are not interested in. Secondly, their customer support is not very helpful, if you have warranty and have some problem with the computer, then you have to call technical support, which isn’t very friendly and helpful. Sometimes its frustrating when you can’t solve the problem and they don’t sent anybody out to look at your machine. So, technical support is not good based on my experiences.
Pros: Dell have some really great computers on their website and offer finance on purchasing computers, which is probably necessary because these computers are beasts and many people may not be able to afford to buy them out right.
I look on the Dell website quite frequently to keep myself updated on the latest advancements in computing and really get a lot of enjoyment out of reading the computer specifications, how sad?
I normally only use the Dell website to make comparisons when I’m custom building a PC. It’s one of the best ways of seeing what they class as a high end computer ;-)
My company use Dell servers though and they are extremely brilliant. The uptime is almost 100% and they are rock solid.
Cons: The prices are a bit too expensive if you know how to build your own computer, I built a computer last Christmas for 1k and this would cost about 2k on the Dell website.
The computers are not really for the average user but if you’ve got money to splash out and don’t want the hassle of building the computer yourself then buying from here is the best option. Just not my cup of tea as it seems a little too expensive and I know how to build my own computer, to my taste.
