A relaxed supermarket - how unusual!

Pros
As supermarkets go, waitrose is probably my favourite (I actually dislike all supermarkets because of what they represent, but that's a different story!). I like waitrose because for some strange reason people who shop in there don't seem to be in quite so much of a rush and fluster as in most supermarkets. I've actually walked round this supermarket on a good day (I can't walk round most - I'd be knocked over).
Another thing I like about this particular waitrose is that it has a good delicatessen counter. Admittedly it's not as good as it used to be as they do seem to pre-cut some of their meat and cheese now (I like mine cut fresh and to the thickness I want it). But at least they don't have it all done like that as some supermarkets do.
I don't use it any more as I bake all my own bread these days, but they also have quite a nice bakery counter here. Oh, and if you do bake your own, although they don't advertise it, they're normally very willing to let you have a piece of fresh yeast - I think they probably get more sent in each day than they can use or something as they don't even charge for this normally.
