  A proper pub in Angel?

  Pros: The Camden Head offers welcome respite from the barrage of trendy bars in Angel. Cheerful staff, cheap pints, comical regulars, outside heaters - and all thirty seconds' walk from Islington Green. I'm not sure what else you could reasonably ask for.
  
  Cons: The upstairs room is pretty devoid of character, although it is a good bet if you would like a bit of quiet over the weekend. Also, the toilets could do with a bit of work. But then how many pubs have immaculate toilets?

  Lovely victorian pub in good location

  Pros: This pub is set back from the main drag near Islington Green, and has a large patio garden outside, with lavish (and eco-unfriendly) outdoor heaters. It really is a very pleasant way to enjoy an outdoor pint, although the garden itself is not very lush.
  
  The inside is a little shabby, but authentic victorian boozer, selling a good mix of beers and the usual snacks.
  
  There is a comedy club upstairs though I havent been so can't comment.
  
  The clientele is mixed and the atmosphere friendly. Last summer I'd been having a pint outside when some very good street performers gave us an impromptu display of acrobatics - a touch of magic that somehow fitted the mood and the place very well.
