Great products and rates but poor customer service!

Pros
Halifax as a bank offers some really competitive products and great interest rates etc. Their High Interest Current Account pays 8% so long as you fund it with at least £100 a month. The savings accounts for children are also market-leading with great rates on their basic Children's Save4It account and the Children's Regular Saver.
Halifax have also offered a Regular Saver for adults paying 10% for 12 months which is a great rate.
Mortgage rates also seem very competitive although our mortgage is actually held elsewhere.
Cons
It's a shame that this bank does other such great rates as I would definitely move to a different bank if I could get the same interest rates elsewhere.
The branch has made a number of relatively minor mistakes since I have been a customer. I appreciate that mistakes do happen but no member of staff has actually ever apologised when something has not been done properly.
Whenever you do go into the branch a cashier will try to offer you their latest deal, whether this be a credit card or home insurance or mortgages. I prefer to do my own research about available services and don't appreciate being given the hard-sell when I'm just trying to pay some money into my account, thanks!
