Great independent cinema (Recommended)

Pros Wide ranging programme, plenty of docs and less mainstream films, as well as the usual blockbuster so there is something for everyone.

The bar and cafe is a definite draw, and there is often free live music before the main evening feature. The bar sells well priced and very tasty food and is a useful venue in its own right!
The cinema tries to be as inclusive as possible with mother-and-baby screenings, and autistic-friendly screenings .

Cons None given.

Great flicks (Recommended)

Pros The Ritzy is part of the picture house chain and is very close to Brixton tube.

The cinema itself is like the others in the chain, it offers a wide range of films, good snacks, comfy seats, and you can take a beer into the film.

The bar here is sometimes used for live music events and is quite a nice place to drink even if you aren’t heading to the pictures.

Cons It gets very busy so screening ssell out, and it can take a while to get to box office or snack counter. On one occasion I had to give up on getting popcorn or risk missing some of the film – disaster!

Good cinema (Recommended)

Pros A handy cinema if you're in the area, the Ritzy is cheaper than the big chains and offers a good mix of films. The eats are good, including Green and Black's ice cream. The bar stands alone as a nice place to be and they let you take drinks into the cinema itself - which is a real bonus for people like me.

There is a membership scheme offering discounted film-going as well as invitations to special events.

Cons Book your tickets in advance as it does sell out a lot.

Turns to anarchy during kids' movies.
