Ain't no party like a Fish Club Party! (Recommended)

Pros A nice modern fish and chip shop which some interesting menu items. I had battered coley, though my alternatives included line-caught cod, skate, bream and Dover sole. Grilled as well as fried options are available. When I return I will probably try the prawn and chorizo kebabs, or maybe the yellowfin tuna. As for sides, the mushy peas were good. Sweet potato, as well as regular potato chips are available.

On the ground floor they have some seating and a fresh fish counter where you can buy fish and shellfish to take home and cook yourself. We sat upstairs and the service was quick and friendly.

Cons My chips were pre-salted, which was a shame as I don't like salt on my chips.

As noted previously, this is a great place for a quite bite, not somewhere to spend an evening over a meal.

Pros We had oysters to start with onion viniagrette which were delicious and then battered cod and haddock with mushy peas, traditional chips and sweet potatoe chips. Actually thye choice of fish was pretty endless and you can have it cooked any way you so desire. I think next time I would have my fish grilled as the fish was a little lost in my batter. It was a great experience -really good fun and the staff were really friendly and helpful. They took the time to explain all the menu and the variations on the menu.

Cons The place could have had more tables and chairs as we had to go and have a drink elsewhere and come back and I think the decor was a little dodgy in places. They could utilise the space much better. But for an upmarket fish and chip shop it was pretty good.

Yum yum! (Recommended)

Pros If your anywhere from down under you'll definitely be missing your cheap fish and chips. This is the only place I have come across that does good Sweet Potato (hot) chips!

The guys behind the counter or serviing you are very knowledgeable about the fish and are great at recommending something for you to try.

You can also buy fresh fish and expect to get around a 20% discount. They also include tartare sauce with it.

Cons Unfortunately, with drinks you could be paying anywhere from £10 upwards. You can do the currency conversion in down under dollars....

Pros This is a fantastic place – fish monger, plus fish & chip take-out, plus fish restaurant.

All the fish is cooked to order (no hours old cod hanging around under heat lamps) and you can choose to have it battered, grilled or fried (and probably some other ways I can’t remember). Classic accompaniments of mushy peas and chips are on offer but there are some great alternatives such as sweet potato chips, interesting salads (I had beetroot) and home made sauces.

The service is incredibly quick, which makes it a great choice if you are looking for a quick meal before heading somewhere else.

Cons Speed of service and general atmosphere mean that although it’s a great location for a quick meal its not somewhere I’d go if I was making a night of it.
