    WORST INSURANCE EVER

    All thought my policy states i'm covered apparently i'm not because after taking out my insurance i didn't ring to confirm some details. Sorry but for the last decade and beyond there has been an inovation called the interent were many people now purchase goods and services, without the need for human interaction Customer services then have the cheek to inform you that you have to communicate via email, or through the website.

    If you need insurance that doesn't cover you or want to speak to staff that don't know their products and services you simply should take their business insurance

    the worst customer services dept ever!!!

    i have only used this company once, their schemes seem flexible, i have never claimed, but when you need to change anything, their customer services department staff are downright rude and very abrupt. they will refuse to take your policy number and look at your case as they keep repeating themselves to send an email, when they are told i have sent 2 they look for excuses as a get out.
    their online form in my account for cancellation doesnt work either as i have filled it out twice, but they refuse to cancel it!
    they also state a 28 day wait for any refunds!
    not customer focused when the deal is done
    beware and avoid at all costs

    Be wary of the small print!

    I held a Landlords Insurance policy with Simply Business and everything was fine in terms of cover and service, until I was honest and notified them that my tenants had left the property and that it would be vacant for potentially 2 to 3 months before I looked to re-let. I was immediately told that my policy would be cancelled and that I was only entitled to a 25% refund of the premium, despite the policy only being 4 months old. If I had lied and told them that I would be looking to re-let immediately then I would have saved a huge amount of money. There was nothing in my policy that said that cover would definitely be withdrawn if the property was unoccupied - it simply said that the insurer reserved the right to amend or exclude cover but the implication was that this would be in extreme circumstances, not when the property was likely to be empty for a mere 2 to 3 months. The customer services representative that I spoke to was very unsympathetic and unhelpful and when I do re-let my property in the future I will definitely NOT be insuring it through Simply Business.

    I never took out any insurance with simply business as on first phoning, just to clarify certain things after reading these reviews, they were so rude and condisending I couldnt wait to get off the phone!

    Business Cover

    My first impression was very good, as I purchased Employers and Third Party Insurance online.
    I completed all the sections diligenty and it showed my correct company tasks, so I thought i was covered.
    However they now tell me that although the policy summary clearly states that I am working on water, that the insurers didn't know I was working on water!
    they have now cancelled my policy, which I have to declare in every new similar policy I apply for.
    They called and said that they had another company that would insure me, but when I pushed them, they admitted that I still wouldn't be covered working on water !!
    they now state that I should have made an extra disclosure, but I don't see that I should have been aware of this as the work I do was clearly shown on my policy summary.
    Don't touch them!

    Business Insurance

    I have dealt with Simply business for a few years now and keep going back with them as they religously make a courteous phone call every year to ask if I would like to continue with them. Their quote always beat everyone else, they are very helpful and they are not pushy. I am hoping the under writers will be just as nice if I have to make a claim.

    I can only say good things about Simply Business. They make the whole experience very simple and easy to sign up and I'm very happy with my policy. I feel that they have a more personal touch to their service than many other insurance companies, which is something that is very important to me.

    false reminders

    Having paid for a new insurance policy on 4 Jan, over the following 8 days I received 3 emails to say my policy was about to/has expired, plus a letter telling me it had expired. So I had to contact them to confirm that my new policy is really in place - which they promptly did, by email and phone.

    Don't Use Simply Business If You Want Peace of Mind

    My first experience of Simply Business was positive. However, I have had trouble renewing (more thsan once) e.g. quibbles over what could be covered, failure to send out email and postal reminders (the postal one eventually arrived three days before the policy was due to expire - and after I had made contact with Simply Business) and worst of all, Simply Business never told me, when I made a claim, that I also needed to contact the insurance provider, resulting in a protracted battle over whether the claim would be covered, in addition to the worry of the claim itself. I was only told to contact the insurers five moths after I'd first contacted Simply Business - despite my regular updates on the progress of the case. The insurers said that they couldn't be sure that I had even declared the claim in good enough time (even tho' I rang Simply Business and emailed them on the very day I learnt of the case). In the event the claim was dropped at no financial cost, but the stress was like nothing I'd ever experienced before. Don't touch Simply Business. They are a relatively new company and they don't know what they are doing.

    Bad experience with business insurance

    I was recommended to use Simply Business insurance for my webshop that I run from home selling cloth nappies & eco friendly baby products Green Jelly. The customer service guy I spoke to was very pleasant and helpful - took all the details and then went away to discuss with the underwriters. He came back with a very competitive quote so I went ahead. All good so far - documents received in the post.

    I then remembered I needed to add the baby sling hire service I am planning to set up so I emailed to see if it was covered or an additional premium was required.

    I didn't hear anything for a week, then on chasing had an e-mail to say that the Underwriters have come back confirming that Simply Business are unable to cover this additional service and in addition the Underwriters have confirmed that my trade/business is not covered and are are not able to provide any cover for my shop/business accordingly. Simply Business therefore need to cancel my policy from inception as the Underwriters have declined to cover the business, the quote should of been declined prior to purchasing or incepting the policy!!

    To me this is highly unacceptable. For Simply Business to take my details, go away and talk to the underwriters before confirming they can insure me and the premium applicable then 'after a review' a few weeks later discover that my type of business is not one they can insure is ludicrous! Furthermore I was not contacted to discuss this and only found out by chasing them.

    So my advice to you is steer clear of Simply Business and look elsewhere for business insurance.

    Saved me a fortune on buy to let contents insurance

    Have just agreed a policy with Simply Business for the above service. Was dealt with by an excellent member of staff who understood exactly what I was saying and even tried to save me money by integrating my policies.

    Simply business are a none advisory insurance broker.

    Therefore to make a claim you are passed to a loss adjuster.
    Yes another company. Although the loss adjuster are in place so simply business can try and wriggle out of any claims. When you question the loss adjuster they have the get out clause of

    I am really surprised at the message below this as the service I receieved was absolutely fantastic.
    I ordered my policy within 10 minutes online and then when I realised I had a query I rang the helpline, unfortunately no one could help me at the time but they rang back within the hour, unfortunately I missed their call but they called back again the following day. Really helpful and apologetic, even when it was my fault for missing the call! Am impressed and pleased I took my insurance through them. Thanks.

    Happy to recommend this company. A little pushy on the phone but I eventually did it all on line. Much higher level of cover for public liability , lower policy excess AND a lower premium. What more can you ask for !

    Took out insurance for my businesss 18 months ago , have been tring to increase stock cover for 3 months with no replies and wrong responses from telephone monkeys with no knowledge atall . now they have decided that they should not have issued the policy and want to back date cancellation ! My legal advice is they cant . I try to run a serious business and these monkeys can not even operate in a serious business like manner . AVOID

    I think the price was excellent how ever it it always a pain to contact them as no one can EVER deal with you when you call in. They have to for some reason ''call you back''.

    I hate it when companies have a standard ''CALL YOU BACK'' operation method.

    Fabulous Website!

    Pros: The website was really easy to move around. When you went back to alter something, it kept previous answers so you didn't have to keep retying the same answers. It stored all your quotes so you could go back and retrieve them quickly. When, having got a fabulous quote (£150 cheaper than other comparison websites), it was so easy to buy it online. Documents arrived within a few minutes. I phoned the helpline to check I had answered something correctly and was answered promptly and very politely.

    Cons: None whatsoever.

    Did all the leg work for me

    Pros: This is my second year with Simply Business and they have been fantastic yet again. They contacted my mortgage provider when required and resolved an issue they had. Very Helpful to me personally regarding rules and regulations about landlord insurance. Covered me for non payment of rent at a very reasonable rate. Overall, fantastic service.

    Cons: I must agree with an earlier con that was made and that is I was slightly disappointed with not getting a new mouse mat this year but it wasn't the end of the world.

    Clearly not clear enough!

    Pros: When I had a query the phone was answered quickly, the advisor was very helpfull, she made every effort to resolve my enquiry.

    Cons: A direct debit was taken from my bank account 20 days before the agreed date, when i requested a call from a manager to resolve this no call was forthcoming. I am left £70.00 out of pocket for a simply business error, apparently it's in the small print, clear maybe, but not clear enough for me.

    2nd Year of Business

    Pros: I found this company when searching for business insurance in my first year of business. Their professional and very easy to use website makes it a joy to enter your details for a quote. These are the best in the market too - couldnt find one cheaper anywhere! Now in my second year of business and one less thing to worry about - insurance! Pleasure to use - easy to obtain a new quote and still the cheapest in the market - see you next year!

    Cons: Didnt receive a new mouse mat this year - it had a full calendar year printed on it, which was very useful - and prompted my renewal month!!

    Best professional indemnity quote

    Pros: Having just started up in business I was finding the lack of financial services comparison sites for businesses somewhat disappointing, that is compared to the number of personal finance comparison websites available. Then I found Simply Business via Google and they found me a professional indemnity policy that was cheaper by nearly £100 compared to other policies I had seen. The payment process was smooth and I'm set up and ready to go.

    Cons: Not a major issue but having to print out all the documents ran to about 60 pages which was a bit of a chore but I guess this is how they save money and provide cheaper policies.

    paying by credit card

    Cons: I have a credit card which does not have its start date printed on the card. I have used it many times for internet or phone purchases. This MASTERCARD has never been refused. There is no problem with the card. Simply Business declined it on the grounds that their system needed the card start date and blamed their payment system. The person I talked to became animated when I grumbled about this, and said something along the lines that she was just doing her job. I asked her for contact details so that I could raise an issue about the payment process with her management. She promised to e-mail me a Customer Services phone number, but then failed to do this. I paid with an alternative card, but think I will shop around in a year's time.

    Speedy service

    Pros: Web site was easy to navigate. Received a phone call from Lynn after registering for a quote. Lynn was very helpful and before I knew it I had just the policy I needed for my business much cheaper than anywhere else.

    Lynne showed excellent customer care by taking the time to go away and research the fact that I was looking for a policy that was slightly different to what was initially on offer at the quote stage.

    Everything was sorted out in the blink of an eye!

    Public and Emplyers Liability Insurances

    Pros: We have used Simply Business for the last three years and have absolutely no complaints at all... We have expanded and moved premises within that time and on each occassion we have found the need to contact them we have found a hassle free, professional service that not only informs us of the necessary changes we need to make to our policies but also saves us money each year!

    Would not hesitate to recommend their services....keep up the good work :-}

    Pros: typical sales man doesnt tell you the small print

    Cons: beware of the small print make sure you read every thing.
    i included tool cover in to my public liability to find out it was only valid if my large van was parked in my small garage (what a joke)

    Fast, efficient and excellent value

    Pros: My husband is a builder/decorator and I manage his business insurance renewals. I searched many different sites and found Simply business to be the best. The site is easy to use and it gave me a variety of quotes. Once I had chosen my selection it was very easy to complete the purchase. Most other site make you re-input the details once you've completed. Also the team on the end of the phone are great, when we are due to renew they always ring to remind us and have always provided us with a cheaper quote. Excellent!

    Small business Insurance

    Pros: I am self-employed as a TV repair technician. I felt I was being ripped off by my local broker as despite having no claims in the 8yrs I have been trading my premiums increased substantially every year. I found Simply Business through a Google search and filled in their online form which was easy to use and I got better cover for approx £40 less than my local broker had quoted me.

    Cons: None I can think of.
