Did all the leg work for me (Recommended)


Pros This is my second year with Simply Business and they have been fantastic yet again. They contacted my mortgage provider when required and resolved an issue they had. Very Helpful to me personally regarding rules and regulations about landlord insurance. Covered me for non payment of rent at a very reasonable rate. Overall, fantastic service.

Cons I must agree with an earlier con that was made and that is I was slightly disappointed with not getting a new mouse mat this year but it wasn't the end of the world.

Clearly not clear enough! (Not Recommended)


Pros When I had a query the phone was answered quickly, the advisor was very helpfull, she made every effort to resolve my enquiry.

Cons A direct debit was taken from my bank account 20 days before the agreed date, when i requested a call from a manager to resolve this no call was forthcoming. I am left £70.00 out of pocket for a simply business error, apparently it's in the small print, clear maybe, but not clear enough for me.

I would like to add that I did find the web site easy to use, the quote was the cheapest i found and the call centre staff are very knowledgeable.

2nd Year of Business (Recommended)


Pros I found this company when searching for business insurance in my first year of business. Their professional and very easy to use website makes it a joy to enter your details for a quote. These are the best in the market too - couldnt find one cheaper anywhere! Now in my second year of business and one less thing to worry about - insurance! Pleasure to use - easy to obtain a new quote and still the cheapest in the market - see you next year!

Cons Didnt receive a new mouse mat this year - it had a full calendar year printed on it, which was very useful - and prompted my renewal month!!

Best professional indemnity quote (Recommended)


Pros Having just started up in business I was finding the lack of financial services comparison sites for businesses somewhat disappointing, that is compared to the number of personal finance comparison websites available. Then I found Simply Business via Google and they found me a professional indemnity policy that was cheaper by nearly £100 compared to other policies I had seen. The payment process was smooth and I'm set up and ready to go.

Cons Not a major issue but having to print out all the documents ran to about 60 pages which was a bit of a chore but I guess this is how they save money and provide cheaper policies.

paying by credit card (Not Recommended)


Pros None given.

Cons I have a credit card which does not have its start date printed on the card. I have used it many times for internet or phone purchases. This MASTERCARD has never been refused. There is no problem with the card. Simply Business declined it on the grounds that their system needed the card start date and blamed their payment system. The person I talked to became animated when I grumbled about this, and said something along the lines that she was just doing her job. I asked her for contact details so that I could raise an issue about the payment process with her management. She promised to e-mail me a Customer Services phone number, but then failed to do this. I paid with an alternative card, but think I will shop around in a year's time.

Having made further investigations with a selection of consultants within our contact centre to clarify their understanding of the payment process - this appears to be an isolated occurrence, however as we are not aware of your identity we cannot trace the specific individual that handled your transaction, but following your feedback our Contact Centre Manager, Karen Knowles, has already briefed all the team within the contact centre as we can indeed process a payment without a start date with certain cards.

Speedy service (Recommended)


Pros Web site was easy to navigate. Received a phone call from Lynn after registering for a quote. Lynn was very helpful and before I knew it I had just the policy I needed for my business much cheaper than anywhere else.

Lynne showed excellent customer care by taking the time to go away and research the fact that I was looking for a policy that was slightly different to what was initially on offer at the quote stage.

Everything was sorted out in the blink of an eye!

Highly delighted!

Public and Emplyers Liability Insurances (Recommended)


Pros We have used Simply Business for the last three years and have absolutely no complaints at all... We have expanded and moved premises within that time and on each occassion we have found the need to contact them we have found a hassle free, professional service that not only informs us of the necessary changes we need to make to our policies but also saves us money each year!

Would not hesitate to recommend their services....keep up the good work :-}

Pros My wife has just started her business and didn't have any ideas about insurance etc. Simply Business website had all the answers we needed and also if you subscribe to their newsletter you can receive news, tips and many more interesting stuff. We found their customer care very reliable and helpful.

simply business a big NO (Not Recommended)


Pros typical sales man doesnt tell you the small print

Cons beware of the small print make sure you read every thing.
i included tool cover in to my public liability to find out it was only valid if my large van was parked in my small garage (what a joke)
in the process of taking business else where.

Anthony B is correct, the tools cover element of business insurance requires that you comply with minimum security requirements to ensure your tools are protected and not easily accessible. (This is just like ensuring you have the right standard of lock on your front door)

All insurers require you to take measures to ensure that the items are locked and secured appropriately. These requirements vary by insurer and are not our requirements but theirs.

All aspects of the insurance policy ‘small print’ are available to customers in the online documents available at the time of quotation.
