Nov 29, 2008Pros: I’ve heard many good things about Halifax and my partner currently has a fixed account with them. She states that the online banking system works really well and only has good things to say about them.
I was recommended to signup before Monday 1st December to the Halifax Web Saver as this is currently offering 5% fixed rate until the close of play on 1st December. One of the few accounts left that you can get a reasonable amount of interest from so I will be a happy chappy next year with my fixed rate account.
Anyways, I found it very easy to signup and deposit £50 to the account, took me roughly about 10 minutes. I rang their customer support during the day to ensure that I would be guaranteed the rate of interest and they seemed really nice on the phone and assured me that it would all be fine and I would get the rate :-)
Cons: The only problem is that there isn’t a Halifax ‘bricks and mortar’ building in Weymouth so I will just have to use the online service or phone them, not a big deal to me though.
The adverts on the TV are a little bit cheesy but I bet they will start cutting back on all the fancy stuff now that cash is becoming more limited. -

Sep 29, 2008Pros: I have banked with Halifax ofr years and love their very simple website. WYSIWYG and it delivers. Simple and easy to follow, its really quick and easy to use. I can see clearly each of my accounts and manage and monitor it. The loading of each page is really good too
Cons: None really, that i can think of as I have had a very good service
