ValueDodfather helped us understand a fearful GSD
Nov 26, 2009We rehomed a GSD called Max and he was an absolute dream in the house. Very obedient, loving and loyal.
However when we took Max out for a walk it was like walking a crocodile. He was very unpreditable with other dogs and because of this we were never able to let him of his lead. Walks became a constant battle to keep other dogs away from Max and the only time we really enjoyed walking with him was when we knew we wouldn't see other dogs.
Plenty of people had there opions about Max being either dominant or aggressive. But anything we tried to do (including having him neutered) never fully solved the problem.
We were at a loss for what to do next so we called the Dogfather to help us understand where we were going wrong and why Max behaved like an angel in the house but was a devil on his walks.
After the Dogfathers visit we not only understood where we were going wrong he also showed us a different side to Max. Max was actually fear aggressive and wasn't attacking other dogs to dominate or harm them he was getting them before they got him.
Not once had we thought that Max could be reacting out of fear. Once we started to act differently when faced with dogs and implementing the proper corrections (i.e. timing is everything), Max started to listen to us. He became a pleasure to walk anywhere even with other dogs around!
The Dogfather was due to come out again to help us teach Max to listen to us off the lead as well as on the lead. Sadly Max became ill and he died before we could finish his training. I honestly do believe that had Max pulled through we would of realised our dream of walking Max off the lead. He would probably never liked every dog he met but we could of stopped any unwanted behaviour.
All of this would never of been possible if we had never made that call to the Dogfather! Even now when we have rehomed another GSD (who is 10 Months old) the Dogfather has helped us socialise and train Sam in his puppy training classes.
Take it from me if he can make a fear aggressive GSD like Max calm submissive, your dog will be a piece of cake! -

ValueGraeme was Our Saviour
Nov 26, 2009We contacted Graeme at a time when we had reached the end of our tether with our one year old border collie Sam.
He was quickly destroying the house, was impossible to walk, would drag us everywhere and we could never let him off the lead as he would never come back when called.
After just one session with Graeme we had in our eyes, the perfect dog. Graeme showed us where we were going wrong . We had basically let Sam think he was the leader of the pack.
We only needed three sessions with Graeme and we now have a very happy household, Sam now knows his place and is a much calmer dog who is a pleasure to walk.
Graeme made the sessions fun and enjoyable. I would highly recommend him to anyone. -

Thanks Sinead! Sam wasn't the easiest dog in the world to calm down, for sure, but I'm proud of the job we did between us. Keep up the good work!

Wow - I'm flattered! I'm glad you were so pleased with what we did. You should also give yourself a pat on the back too! Good work, keep it up with Sam!
