What is BView?

BView is a platform for facilitating conversations between businesses with the aim of increasing an individual business's ability to best serve its customers. BView initiates these business-to-business conversations by making publicly available a uniquely rich collection of information.

Over two million businesses are listed on BView; listing information is provided by the business itself, by BView partners, such as Equifax, and by existing customers' reviews. Customers can search, add, review and share information on businesses with colleagues, business contacts, friends and family. Business owners can manage and customise their business profile pages, connect with new customers, talk with existing customers and become a larger part of their local communities. go to top


Why should I use BView?

There are over two million businesses listed on BView, displayed alongside 1.9 million financial credit scores. Business owners participating in the BView community may can sales leads, grow their contact bases and create networks among new and existing customers. Business owners who join the BView Community, can more fully engage with our Site's distinct collection of information data by expressing their own understandings their own and others' businesses. As a customer and a member of BView you can interact with and contribute to BView's robust collection of information by reviewing businesses that you deal with.

Business owners may 'take control' of their business listings and customise their business profile pages. If you are a business owner and you want to actively manage your profile, we will perform a simple verification test using your credit card. It won't cost anything, and once verified you'll instantly have the ability to “take control” of your business on BView.

Once you 'take control' of your business listing, you can upgrade your membership to allow you to use some of our great promotional and networking tools. See 'How do I upgrade my membership?' below.

BView further provides customers with an unbiased view of businesses. This is achieved by the public display of financial data collected from BView's partner, Equifax, as well as BView's unique Quality, Reliability and Value (QRV) ratings. Reviews submitted to BView are associated with a BView QRV rating, a scoring system which is driven by our reviewers, themselves. As a customer and a member of BView, you can access and add to this unique collection of information, in order to help you and the BView Community to make better business decisions. go to top

Profile
Why should I join BView?

Only by joining BView can you take full advantage of what we have to offer! As a member you can:

  • 'take control' of your own business
  • customise your business and/or personal profile pages(s)
  • follow users and businesse
  • contact other users
  • review businesses
  • upload pictures and videos
  • submit blog posts

Only as a member of BView will you have the opportunity to build a network of trusted people and businesses within the BView Community. go to top


How do I verify my account?

Once you have registered, we will send an email to the address you used to register. Follow the link and your account will be activated. go to top


What information is posted publicly?

We will display your first name and last name on our site. You can amend this to your first name and last initial, should you prefer.

We will also display your town, approximate age and any businesses that you have taken control of. go to top


I have forgotten my password; can I reset it?

Yes, just follow this link to the Forgotten Password process. You will be asked to enter the email address you registered with. Follow the link in the email to reset your password. go to top


My profile has been suspended, what do I do?

From time to time profiles may be suspended because a member of the BView Community has contacted us. Please follow the 'contact us' link, fill out the form and we will investigate. We aim to process all requests within 48 hours. go to top


Reviews, Ratings & Content
What is QRV and how do the ratings work?

QRV stands for Quality, Reliability and Value.

By contextualising reviews within these categories, we believe our users get a more complete picture about a user's review of a business.

Our QRV scores are calculated using an algorithm that measures your business against other reviewed business within the same business classification. go to top


What should I review?

You can review as many businesses as you want, whether you've dealt with them on behalf of your business or as a private individual. You should only review businesses with which you've had first-hand experience. go to top


What makes a good review?

Detail! The more detailed your review, the better. BView aims to give its community the most comprehensive possible picture of local businesses, and the more precise and balanced your review, the strong our community becomes.

Honesty! BView is founded on the principles of honesty and transparency in business dealings. These principles should guide your review-writing. Submit reviews only for businesses with which you've had first-hand experience. go to top


I want to change my review.

If you submit a review on BView, you will not be able to edit or delete this review; however, you will be able to add a note to your original review. Notes can allow you to add further detail, explanation or follow-up information on a particular experience. go to top


Can I review a business I own or work for?

What if I find offensive, abusive or libellous material?

We provide 'report abuse' links with all user-generated content and on business and user profiles. These are normally found in the bottom right-hand corner. Click on a 'report abuse' link and follow the short instructions. We will then assess the content you have reported and, if we agree with your report, we will remove it. go to top


Businesses
Taking control of your business profile.

Taking control of your business allows you to actively manage your business presence on BView. You can customise your business profile by adding photos, videos, opening hours, company description and by starting your own blog.

Importantly, only by 'taking control' will you gain the right to respond to reviews written about your business.

Once 'taken control' you'll want to invite your existing customers, business partners and suppliers to review your business and to follow you, in order to receive updates to your BView business profile.

Crucially, by taking control of your business, you'll provide the BView Community with a more complete picture of your business, and so encourage members of our community to do business with you. go to top


How can I take control of my business?

This can be done in three ways:

  1. Search our business-directory using the search form that is located at the top of every page.
  2. Search our extended directory here.

When you've found your business, click the 'take control' link and follow the simple directions through our business-ownership verification procedure and you'll be in control. go to top


How does using BView benefit my business?

BView is a website available for anyone to use. We have information and free credit scores on over two million UK businesses. By taking control of your profile you can add more information about your company. You can also invite customers, business partners and suppliers to review your business and receive updates made to your BView profile. go to top


Why do you need to verify me?

Verification lets us know that you are who you say you are. Once verified, you can 'take control' of business profiles on BView. All stored details are covered by our Privacy policy. go to top


Why did I fail verification?

We check the registered billing address of your credit/debit card against the address you supplied to us. If these do not match you will fail verification.

Someone else has taken control of my business, what do I do?

You can dispute ownership of any controlled listing by click on the 'dispute ownership' link included on the business profile page of any controlled business.

Once the 'dispute ownership' form has been submitted, a dispute will be logged and we will investigate. go to top

I can't find my business!

There are two ways to find your business on BView:

  1. Search our business-directory using the search form that is located at the top of every page.
  2. Search our extended directory here

If your business can't be found, you can add it to our directory. go to top


Where does third party information come from?

We work with a variety of partners, such as Equifax, in order to offer as complete a picture as possible of all UK businesses. These strategic partnerships provide BView with a uniquely rich collection of data.

I disagree with a review of my business.

We do not read reviews before they are posted on BView.

If a review is abusive, libellous or offensive you can report it to us using the 'report abuse' link displayed with all reviews. Once we receive your report, we will assess the review and take any appropriate action. If you are a member of BView and have 'taken control' of your business, you have teh ability to respond to all reviews of your business. go to top


Can I control more than one business?

Yes, as long as you are the business owner/manager, or have his/her permission. go to top


I no longer want to control a business.

Click the 'edit/manage trading addresses' link on your business profile page, and then hit the 'give up control' link.

Remember to remove any content from your business profile page before 'giving up control' once you rescind ownership of a business listing you will no longer have the ability to add or delete content on the business profile page. go to top


Inviting & Following
How do I invite other people to join BView?

You can invite your friends and colleagues to join BView via the 'invite' link on your personal profile page.

If you are a business owner you can invite people to review your business via the 'promote' link on any businesses you control. go to top


How do I build a network?

Via your personal profile, you can follow other users and any businesses you are interested in. You'll automatically follow any users who sign up from an invite you send out.
